If you’ve ever looked in the mirror and wished for slimmer and more slender legs, you’re not alone. For women, bulky calves can stand in the way of their ideal feminine shape. And for men, bulky calves can be disproportionate to the rest of their bodies. Fortunately, there's a non-surgical solution. Calf Botox (or "calf tox"), also known as Botox Calf Reduction or Calf Slimming Injections, is a safe, doctor-administered aesthetic treatment that uses botulinum toxin to reduce calf muscle size.
Calf tox works by temporarily relaxing the gastrocnemius muscle, reducing muscle activity and volume over time. Unlike fat-freezing or liposuction, which target fat tissue, Calf Botox addresses on muscle hypertrophy (enlarged calf muscle due to genetics, exercise, or habitual high-heel use). By selectively weakening the muscle without affecting the surrounding tissue, the procedure slims the legs without compromising movement.
This results in a gradual slimming effect that becomes noticeable in 3-4 weeks and continues to improve over several months.
Calf Botox may be suitable for you if:
The number of Botox units required for calf slimming depends on the size and muscle bulk of your gastrocnemius muscles. On average, 50 to 100 units per leg may be used to achieve noticeable slimming.
At Bay Aesthetics Clinic, our doctors will assess your calf size and desired outcome during consultation before recommending the appropriate dosage.
Rest assured, your treatment is fully personalised for natural-looking results.
Typically, a calf Botox treatment costs $1,200 (100 Botox units)
You may require two sessions of calf tox for ideal results and subsequent maintenance sessions spaced between 4-6 months.
While calf Botox is generally safe, some potential risks include:
Note: These risks apply to all Botox treatments. To minimise any complications, it’s important to have your treatment done by a doctor who is experienced with calf slimming techniques and muscle anatomy.
Calf Botox is a quick and comfortable procedure. Here's what the typical experience looks like at Bay Aesthetics Clinic:
We begin with a detailed evaluation of your leg shape, muscle activity, and aesthetic goals. You’ll also be advised on what degree of slimming is realistic for your body type. Pre-treatment photographs will be taken.
Numbing cream is applied for ~20 minutes. The injections take about 10-15 minutes. A fine needle is used to deliver Botox into targeted areas of the gastrocnemius muscle. Most patients experience minimal discomfort.
There is no downtime. You can return to daily activities immediately after treatment. However, you’ll be advised to avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
Slimming becomes visible in 3-4 weeks, with full results typically seen at 2–3 months. Results last 4–6 months on average and can be maintained with periodic treatments.
