Botox injections are the most commonly performed non-surgical aesthetic treatments worldwide. Botox, short for botulinum toxin type A, is a purified neurotoxin for medical and cosmetic use derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. When injected in small amounts, Botox temporarily blocks communication between nerves and muscles, causing muscle paralysis. By weakening the activity of the target muscles on the face, dynamic wrinkles are addressed. By relaxing facial muscles, Botox softens dynamic expression lines, creating a smoother, younger-looking appearance. The onset of effects is within 3 to 7 days, with Botox effects peaking at around 2 weeks, lasting for about 3 to 4 months.

Dynamic wrinkles become static wrinkles over time as the skin loses its elasticity and collagen.
Wrinkles form due to a combination of factors, including the natural aging process, sun damage, and repetitive facial expressions, which lead to a decrease in skin elasticity and collagen production
Static wrinkles form with the natural ageing process
Botox - Botulinum toxin injections aka “anti wrinkle injections” is best known for reducing dynamic wrinkles — lines caused by repetitive facial expressions such as smiling, frowning, or squinting. Common areas treated include:
When injected correctly (proper technique and dosage), Botox injections soften facial lines without affecting the ability to express emotions, delivering a natural, refreshed look.
Most side effects of Botox are mild, temporary, and resolve without intervention. They are often related to the injection process itself or the temporary effect of the toxin on surrounding muscles.
