What Are Chin & Jawline Fillers?
Chin and jaw fillers are non-surgical aesthetic treatments where your doctor injects dermal fillers into the chin or jawline to improve the facial contours of the lower face. Chin and jawline fillers can enhance definition, add volume, and create a more harmonious side profile.
Benefits of Chin & Jawline Fillers
A non-surgical alternative to chin implants for a more sculpted look
Enhances facial balance and definition
Creates a more projected, structured chin and jawline
Reduces the appearance of a double chin
Adds width for a more masculine jawline or refines for a slimmer, feminine look
Natural-looking results with no downtime
Why Choose Chin & Jaw Fillers?
Facial balance is key to attractiveness. The “rule of thirds” in facial aesthetics suggests that ideal facial proportions involve harmony between the forehead, cheekbones, nose, lips and chin. Chin and jaw fillers allow you to achieve a sculpted and “snatched” looking side profile with minimal pain or downtime. The alternative choice would be jawline surgery or chin implants- invasive surgeries that come with a higher risk of complications and longer downtime.
Who should do chin and jawline fillers?
Chin and jawline fillers may not be suitable for individuals who
Are Pregnant or Breastfeeding: It's generally recommended to avoid fillers during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Have an Active skin Infection: If you have an active infection, you should postpone your chin filler treatment until the infection has cleared.
Have a Bleeding Disorder: Individuals with bleeding disorders may be at a higher risk of bruising and complications.
Which Filler Is Suitable for the Chin & Jaw Area?
The most suitable chin fillers typically possess three key characteristics:
High G prime – This refers to the gel’s firmness and its ability to resist pressure and deformation. For chin enhancement, we need a filler that is relatively firm and able to retain its shape.
High cohesiveness – This describes how well the gel holds together or resists spreading. In the chin area, we prefer a filler that maintains its volume in a concentrated, defined area.
High degree of cross-linking – This indicates the number of chemical bonds between molecules, which significantly affects how long the filler lasts in the body.
Simply put, an ideal chin and jawline filler needs to be as “hard” as possible, to resist the compressive forces and provide optimal chin projection and sculpting. A good example would be Juvederm Volux, which was specifically designed for Chin and jawline augmentation.

Chin & Jaw Filler Treatments Offered at Bay Aesthetics Clinic
At Bay Aesthetics, we offer the following chin and jaw filler treatments:
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Fillers: High G-prime (aka “Hard”) HA fillers such as Juvederm Volux are the recommended option for chin and jawline fillers, with instantly visible results that can last for 12-18 months. HA fillers may also be dissolved with hyaluronidase if required.
Calcium Hydroxylapatite (Radiesse): Radiesse is a collagen biostimulating filler that provides structure and definition to the chin and jawline. Radiesse stimulates collagen production, resulting in a more sculpted and defined appearance over time.
Polycaprolactone (Ellanse): Ellanse is a collagen biostimulating filler that provides immediate sculpting and volume with long-lasting collagen production. Results are shown to last up to 24 months.
Typically, we recommend treatment with HA fillers for first-timers (in case they change their mind and wish to dissolve the filler later) and Ellanse or Radiesse for patients who have had fillers before and want a longer lasting treatment

How Much Filler Is Needed?
The amount of filler needed depends on your facial structure and aesthetic goals, but here’s a general guide for women and men. Each syringe of filler is 1cc
Women: Chin- 1-2cc, Jawline 2-3cc
Men: Chin 2-3cc, jawline 3-4cc
During your consultation, our doctors will assess your facial anatomy, aesthetic goals and advise on the number of filler syringes required to achieve the desired outcome.
How Long Do Chin & Jaw Fillers Last?
Depending on the filler used, results can last up to 24 months, with gradual collagen stimulation enhancing long-term effects.
Cost of Chin & Jaw Fillers in Singapore
This would depend on the treatment plan and the type of filler used.
HA filler costs from $388 per syringe (1cc)
Radiesse/Ellanse costs from $888 per syringe (1cc)
Risks of Chin and Jawline filler
Vascular occlusion: Vascular occlusion develops when filler is injected into a blood vessel, causing blockage of the blood vessel and tissue necrosis (tissue death). This is a medical emergency and needs to be addressed urgently.
Infection: fillers may become infected and require treatment with antibiotics
Delayed inflammatory response: This condition is a non-infective inflammation of fillers, thought to be immune mediated response to antigens in the filler material. Treatment is with anti-inflammatory medications
Filler migration: fillers may migrate from the original site of injection
Assymmetry, unsatisfactory cosmetic outcome: this can be addressed at follow-up with a touch-up filler treatment
Nodules and lumps: Excess amount of lip filler injected into a single site may result in a nodule or lump
Overfilling, “witch chin”: Overzealous patients who clinic-hop and do too much chin filler may develop a “witch chin” deformity (usually takes 5-6 syringes of filler). Our regular patients don’t get overfilled, as we will stop them before they go overboard. Read this for more information on facial overfilled syndrome.
Note: These risks apply to all filler treatments; chin and jawline fillers are generally regarded as a “low risk” area as compared to nose fillers or lip fillers, which are “high risk”.
